ZFight

The First Fighting Game for ZShell

PROGRESS UPDATE Mar 7/98: I've fixed the problem with sprites being shifted over a bunch when you're facing left. This is fixed. I'm also going to be doing some huge changes to the general setup of the game so I can add the AI in. Right now, I'm totally at a loss as to there to include the AI. One change I'll probably make before the adition of AI is real fighting. Right now, you can walk up to the computer and beat him senseless. He doesn't fall down. That needs to be changed. Hence the announcement of version 0.79b. When hit, players will fall down. I'll also be putting in the same player select screen as in the preview.

PREVIEW! Feb 25/98: Click here to see a preview of where ZFight is heading. I can't promiss the AI will be that smart or aggressive initially, but after some heavy refinment, it might be.

Cool! 2000+ visitors! You are visitor to this page.

  • About: ZFight is the first (and only) fighting game for the TI-85 and TI-86. The current version is 0.78b. Features include a choice of three players, 1 background, combat, and support for external players. I'm pretty sure this one is bug free.

    The Players:
Heatwave Jack Scorpion Solitare (not yet)

    The Backgrounds:

    Eventual goal:

    Plans:
  • 4-8 players to choose from (3 right now)
  • 2 player linkup (eventually)
  • backgrounds (got 'em)
  • external players (works now)
    Current problems being worked on:

Compressed Backgrounds: Compressing backgrounds has the potential of decreasing the size of each background by up to half (512 bytes/background)

Computer Opponents: Artificial intelligence in assembly? Yep, this part'll take a while. Fortunately, I've got some help for this.

2 players: Link play's last on the list cause its gonna take the longest. I have access to 2 calculators, I just don't know how often.
